My Confidence Increased and Now Can Deliver a Solid Punch!
I originally signed up for three months of women's kickboxing, thinking I could get some cardio exercise in and maybe learn a little self-defense. That was a year and a half ago, and I've never left! The classes are intense workouts that are always different, which keeps things interesting. There are two different instructors, Ms. Ada and Ms. Carrie, each of whom has her own style of teaching and who complement each other well. Both are very supportive and positive. They appreciate the beauty and strength of women of all shapes and sizes, and encourage you to give all you have to being your best and developing good fighting form. Since I've been going there I've seen my confidence increase, because they've taught me I can do things I never thought I'd be able to do. And it never hurts to know how to deliver a good, solid punch! Highly recommended both for fitness and self-defense.
Classes are Enjoyable and Truly Priceless
On every Tuesday and Thursday of the week, I look forward to the end of work. Why Tuesdays and Thursday? These are the days where I attend Amerikick’s Fitness Kickboxing classes. I love how energetic and lively classes are and how it has the ability to perk me up despite a long day at work. Sometimes the exercises can get pretty tough as they work your entire body but the instructors are extremely motivational. They do not hesitate to share their knowledge with you and to top it off, they are super bubbly and approachable. Simply put, you aren’t just paying for classes and gloves and what not, you’re paying for an enjoyable (and sometimes excruciating) experience that keeps your body healthy. Because of this, Amerikick’s Fitness Kickboxing classes are truly priceless.
If You are Looking for a Place to Make Your Fat Cry, Amerikick is the Perfect Place to GO!
I just joined the class less than that a week ago and I'm really liking this place. When I first walked into class, of course I felt really nervous. However, this was only temporary as I was immediately greeted with smiles and positive energy. The teachers were super kind and helpful. I stuck to the back of the class awkwardly at first but with a little time, you will be able to catch the pace and slide into the pace. (If you're confident, go ahead of hop right in front!). Get ready to work your body to awesome pulsating music and kick-ass drills. The teachers will teach you the right way to kick, punch, hook and condition. The class is easy to follow but it is definitely not easy on your body. Just when I was feeling accomplished after finishing 50 crunches and squats the sensei smiled to everyone and say "good job, 1 more set!" The collective groans were hilarious but nonetheless, the students are motivated, creating a really inspiring environment to workout and learn. You may not look it, but you'll definitely feel badass. (pumped up and ready to roll!)
I went for a Muay Thai class as well as 2 kickboxing classes thus far. I can tell you, unless you are a fan of bruised and bloody knuckles, you need to have gloves for your classes! If you don't have them, don't sweat it because you can buy them at class as well.
It's always better to be sore than sorry. If you are looking for a place to make your fats cry, stock up good "karma" before gorging on Halloween candy and Thanksgiving turkey, an outlet to kick and punch and throw a fit (because we cannot do that in front of our bosses) or a professional and conducive place to learn and hone your skills, Amerikick is the perfect place to go.
P.S I'm kidding about throwing a fit, it's a dojo. Be respectful or be prepared to get kicked out.
